MomoCon 2017, a celebration of pop culture and Atlanta’s position as an entertainment industry leader, is expected to draw more than 30,000 attendees to the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta May 25 through 28. The event gets its name from “momo,” the Japanese word for “peach,” and “con,” short for “convention.”

The four-day event will feature panels, workshops and meet-and-greets with film, TV and game industry leaders who have worked on projects including “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “The Walking Dead,” Disney films, Marvel comics, Overwatch, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy and more.

Founded in 2004 by Jessica Merriman and Chris Stuckey, then students at Georgia Tech, MomoCon has grown from a 700-person, on-campus event to the largest gaming event in the Southeast for fans of video games, animation, cosplay, comics and tabletop games.
