A new production studio, Blackhouse Studios, located in East Point, Georgia is slated to open this summer. The building, which was purchased in November 2018 by the first African-American owned crowdfund, the Tulsa Real Estate Fund (TREF), is currently undergoing renovations.
Ernestine Morrison of the TREF, also an actress and poet, is spearheading the initiative. The project is geared towards enhancing the growing, African-American focused entertainment industry in Atlanta.
