Reel Friends, an Atlanta-based film collective dedicated to independent cinema and creative community, will host its final fundraising event for the upcoming feature film “BiRDY” written and directed by Brent Michal. The BiRDY Block Party is set for Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Snackbox Studios located at 135 Krog St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30307.
In true block party fashion, the evening will feature a neighborhood-style celebration with games, food, and drinks, along with an exclusive “BiRDY” exhibit showcasing props, wardrobe, and original artwork from the film created by the film’s Production Designer, Bronson Castro of Magnolia Arthouse. Guests can purchase raffle tickets beginning at 5 p.m., with the raffle kicking off at 8 p.m., a live auction at 9 p.m., and last call for food and drink sales at 9:45 p.m.
All proceeds will go directly toward the production of “BiRDY,” marking this event as the film’s final fundraising push before moving into production.
“Reel Friends is all about bringing people together through film and community,” Executive Producers Rocco Shapiro and Akshay Bhatia said. “This Block Party is not only a chance to support ‘BiRDY,’ but also to celebrate local creativity and independent storytelling.”
