The 28th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival kicked off Saturday with a dynamic day of screenings, Q&As, and red-carpet celebrations honoring cinematic excellence. Distinguished Performance Award honoree Miles Teller joined audiences for the opening night gala screening of Eternity, alongside co-star Da’Vine Joy Randolph. This is the fourth time Miles Teller has been a guest of the SCAD Savannah film festival over the past 15 years. Acclaimed filmmaker Park Chan-wook was presented with the International Auteur Award following the gala screening of No Other Choice.
Additional highlights included screenings and conversations featuring She DancesDon Bluth: Somewhere Out There, and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, with special guests including legendary animator Don Bluth and production designer Jim Bissell (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial).
Now in its 28th year, the SCAD Savannah Film Festival (Oct. 25–Nov. 1, 2025) is the largest university-run film festival in the U.S., celebrating both professional and student filmmakers while spotlighting excellence across all facets of cinema. The 2025 lineup features 167 films, including gala and signature screenings, panel discussions, and special presentations with industry luminaries.
