WATCH: Paul Carpenter on the Convergence of Entertainment and Marketing in Georgia

Georgia’s booming film and television industry is drawing professionals from beyond traditional production roles, signaling a maturing creative economy.

Paul Carpenter, with the American Marketing Association of Atlanta, has been tracking the state’s entertainment growth since the late 2010s while working with agencies and production companies across marketing, advertising, and corporate communications.

“I see a big world where lines are blurring between the entertainment and marketing and advertising side of things,” Carpenter said during a recent interview at Shadowbox Studios. “It’s kind of a symbiotic relationship, or it should be, and there’s no better place than Atlanta.”

This cross-industry collaboration strengthens Georgia’s position as more than just a filming location—it’s becoming a comprehensive content creation hub where marketing expertise and production capabilities increasingly intersect.
