Actor, filmmaker, and content creator Angel Fabián Rivera announces the first-ever staged reading of his new multi-cam sitcom Fossil Fuel Café, taking place December 6th from 4-6 PM at the Alliance Theatre.
The event will feature a diverse ensemble of Atlanta-based talent, bringing the pilot episode to life in an exclusive industry-only presentation. Set inside the quirky café of the fictional Franklin Museum of Natural & Cultural History (MONCH – “where the F is silenced”), Fossil Fuel Café blends workplace comedy, Latino representation, and classic sitcom charm. Rivera, who grew up learning English through sitcoms, created the series as a love letter to comedy and as a platform for showcasing the diversity and voices
of Atlanta’s creative community.
“Sitcoms shaped me, taught me English, and brought joy into my life,” says Rivera. “Now I want to bring that joy back, with a show that feels nostalgic, inclusive, and proudly Atlanta-made.”
The staged reading will gather actors, producers, writers, and entertainment professionals in a small, curated audience of 50 guests. The presentation aims to introduce the world, tone, and characters of the show while opening the door for potential collaborators, investors, and producing partners.
