Discover Dunwoody proudly recognizes Alli Sheahan as the November recipient of the Distinguished Production Associate Recognition Program, which honors the hardworking professionals who keep film and television productions running smoothly behind the scenes. This program celebrates the creativity and dedication that drive Georgia’s thriving entertainment industry.
Alli Sheahan has been drawn to film and television for as long as she can remember. Growing up in the Marietta/Roswell area, she found her passion for storytelling while performing in school and community theater. Those early experiences taught her how entertainment can bring people together and inspired her to pursue a creative path. It wasn’t until college, however, that she realized she wanted to make a career out of it. As a student at the University of Miami’s School of Communication, she began as a broadcast journalism major before discovering that screenwriting was where her true passion lay. The timing of that decision could not have been better. By the time she graduated, Georgia’s film industry was thriving, motivating her to return home rather than move to Los Angeles and begin building her career right where the action was growing fastest.
Breaking into the industry without connections was challenging. Alli spent months sending resumes, reaching out to contacts, and pursuing every opportunity that could open a door. Her persistence paid off when she landed her first role as an Office Production Assistant on a CW pilot. She steadily advanced through production offices, gaining hands-on experience and growing into her career.
