The Fox Theatre has announced that $500,000 in grants has been given to historic theatres and cultural landmarks across the state. Fox Gives has spent the last 17 years donating more than $4.7 million to restore and preserve theatres statewide.
The grant recipients for the year include:
- Colored Memorial Building Auditorium in Brunswick – $45,000
- DeSoto Theatre in Rome – $62,500
- Morton Theatre in Athens – $57,000
- Ritz Theater & Cultural Center in Albany – $47,000
- Ritz Theatre in Toccoa – $65,000
- Sautee Nacoochee Historic Gymnasium in Sautee Nacoochee – $100,000
- Springer Opera House in Columbus – $58,500
- Thomasville Center for the Arts in Thomasville – $65,000
