0

Douglas County Tourism, in partnership with the Douglasville Convention and Visitors Center and the Douglas County Film Office, will officially launch the Douglas County Film Trail website on March 31, according to Douglas County Tourism Director Collin Cash.

Douglas County has become a significant player in Georgia’s film industry and with the development of the county’s film trail, is expected to give an additional boost to Douglas County’s tourism industry.

The county’s growing role in Georgia’s film industry was duly noted at the State Capitol on Jan. 24 at the annual Tourism, Hospitality and Arts Day.

House Resolution 93, which was adopted by the House Jan.24, brought attention to Douglas County’s growing film industry and subsequent tourism development, which has become prominent in recent years.

District 67 State Rep. Micah Gravley, R-Douglasville, will present the original copy of the resolution during the website launch which will be held on the grounds of the old Douglas County Courthouse near its recently posted Douglas County Film Trail sign.
