MTV moves ‘Scream’ to Atlanta from Louisiana for third season

0

The Georgia film office says MTV is going to shoot the third season of its scripted semi-anthology horror series “Scream” in metro Atlanta.

The first two seasons were shot in Louisiana. This is the first time Georgia has ever nabbed a TV series from Louisiana. North Carolina, after it severely capped its tax credits, lost “Sleepy Hollow” in 2015, which aired for two more seasons here before being cancelled.

Louisiana’s tax credit system for movies and TV this year has been capped at $180 million a year. Georgia currently has no limit on its credits, which has helped fuel the growth of films and TV productions in the state, turning it into the third most popular state behind only California and New York.
