Atlanta continues to expand its creative landscape. With a $4+ billion film industry, a strong music scene, and a growing fashion ecosystem, Atlanta has become a hub for entertainment, style, and culture. Later this month, the city’s creative convergence continues.
Atlanta International Fashion Week (AIFW) and Artistic Heights Academy (AHA) present The Convergence of Fashion x Film in Atlanta — a collaboration that combines cinematic storytelling with high fashion, performance, and cultural impact.
“Fashion is more than fabric — it’s character, culture, and cinematic power,” says Jonna Naegele (Founder, Coach, Actress+) of Artistic Heights Academy.
Now in its 18th year, AIFW has produced over 350 runway shows and 200 celebrity events, earning recognition from the Atlanta City Council and Georgia’s Governor. With Atlanta ranked among the top 10 U.S. retail markets and establishing itself as a fashion center, AIFW continues to raise the city’s profile and support its creative economy.
From September 23–28, 2025, AIFW’s Passport to Fashion series will transform Atlanta into a living runway — featuring designer collections, panels, and showcases that explore the intersection of costume, character, and narrative.
“This event is more than fashion — it’s a catalyst for economic development, cultural pride, and creative expansion,” says Former Mayor Shirley Franklin. “AIFW is raising Atlanta’s profile on the world stage,” adds Sonya Maste (Director of Marketing) at ADA.
At the heart of this celebration is Artistic Heights Academy, an institution providing performing arts education. AHA trains artists with industry preparation and connects them with professionals — from producers and casting agents to entertainment lawyers and directors. Their presence at AIFW brings a new dimension to the runway: where fashion becomes character, and performance becomes couture.
“Our partnership with AIFW is a celebration of artistry, authenticity, and Atlanta’s creative force,” says Katrina Pitts (President & CEO) of Artistic Heights Academy. “Together, we’re bridging the gap between fashion and film — and redefining what it means to be a cultural capital,” adds Dr. Paula Whittle (Founder, & Director) of AIFW.
