0

The Global South Film Festival (GSF2) has opened submissions for its Youth Short Film Invitational, offering high school students across South Fulton and the greater Atlanta area a chance to showcase their creativity on the big screen. The competition will be held as part of the festival on December 4th & 5th, 2025, at the Southwest Arts Center.

The Youth Short Film Invitational invites high school students to submit original short films up to 10 minutes in length. Selected works will premiere during the festival alongside international features and panels, giving young filmmakers the same spotlight as professional directors.

“This program is much more than a competition – its liberation through storytelling,” said Danielle Duncan, Festival Director of GSF2. “We want our students to see themselves as directors of their own narrative and know their voices matter in shaping global conversations.”

Students can submit films through the festival website at GSF2.org/youth. The deadline for
entries is November 14, 2025.

The Youth Short Film Invitational is presented in partnership with media partner Georgia Entertainment highlighting the festival’s commitment to investing in the next generation of filmmakers.
