Watch: Todd Patience Reveals How Sweetwater Innovates with Its Gear in Creative Projects

0

For more than 30 years, NEP Sweetwater has been one of the creative engines behind some of the most visually striking moments in live entertainment and film production. What began as a company focused on live events and game shows has evolved into a powerhouse of display innovation, now operating under NEP Group, the world’s largest broadcast company behind the Super Bowl, PGA events, and Major League Baseball. At the heart of that innovation is Todd Patience, Senior Account Executive at NEP Sweetwater, who has made it his mission to rethink what LED can do for storytelling.

“We’ve done some crazy things with LED screens, even the manufacturers are surprised by how we use them,” Patience shared. From turning LED panels into walkable floors and weatherproof outdoor structures to rigging massive screens onto condors and other moving sets, Sweetwater’s team constantly blurs the line between engineering and imagination. Their work has illuminated everything from high-energy commercials to haunting horror films, proving that no two productions or challenges are ever the same.

What makes Sweetwater stand out isn’t just its technical expertise but its relentless creativity. Every new project becomes a playground for innovation, and Patience says that’s exactly what keeps their work exciting. “Every show is different. We’re always looking for new ways to use the technology,” he explained. In an industry driven by spectacle and story, NEP Sweetwater’s fearless approach to LED continues to light the way for the next generation of cinematic and live event design.
