Decatur WatchFest ‘26 Transforms Downtown Intersection with Giant Logo in Celebration of FIFA World Cup 2026
Soccer excitement continues to grow in Decatur! On Nov. 19, Decatur WatchFest ‘26 will transform the intersection of Church Street and Sycamore Street with a giant painting of the Decatur WatchFest ‘26 logo.
As we approach the World Cup draw announcement on Dec. 5, the artwork is part of the installation of a new “pedestrian scramble” in the intersection. The scramble stops traffic in all directions and allows pedestrians to cross in any direction, including diagonally.
Decatur WatchFest ‘26 will offer 34-days of free music, games, activities and food and beverages on and around the newly renovated Decatur Square as fans watch the world’s top soccer matches in celebration of the FIFA World Cup 26™. WatchFest ‘26 will also include big name musical artists – Big Boi opens with a free concert on June 11 – as well as other local and international talent to be announced.
FIFA World Cup 2026™ runs from June 11, 2026 through July 19, 2026, with eight matches taking place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Easily accessible by MARTA connecting Decatur to downtown, Decatur will join greater Atlanta to celebrate the arrival of world class soccer to Atlanta.
