Intro to Digital Compositing Begins
When: Wednesdays from 5:30-8:30 PM, January 14th – March 5th
Digital Compositing is the art of stitching together various filmed or digitally created elements to produce a final image in VFX or animation. It includes the removal of greenscreens, integrating CGI into live action, digitally extending sets, painting out wires or crew reflections, adding stylized effects, adding elements like rain and smoke, digital makeup, replacing computer screens, and many other use cases.
Essentials of Digital Compositing will give students an intrinsic understanding of digital compositing workflows and techniques. Students will be introduced to the basic principles of digital compositing and image integration. Students will learn each of the following aspects of compositing: tracking, paint work, rotoscoping, greenscreen keying, image manipulation, and CG integration. They will be given the opportunity, tools, and guidance to create their own composited shots.
