Marvel VP: Not true Marvel is ‘abandoning’ Georgia

0

After Hollywood sweetened its film incentive in hopes of luring back productions from states like Georgia, rumors have swirled that Marvel Studios plans to pull out of the Peach State and start doing much of its work in California.

But at a cast and crew screening of “Black Panther” at the Fox Theater Feb. 7, David Grant, a head of physical production at Marvel, said the studio has no plans to stop shooting in Atlanta.

“I’d like to squelch a rumor that I’ve been hearing for months and weeks, almost on a daily basis. I keep hearing that Marvel is abandoning Georgia. I don’t know where these rumors start. It’s not true. There’s no basis to it,” said Grant, who has worked on Marvel films such as “Ant-Man,” “Thor,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Doctor Strange.”
