Over the course of six Mock‑Set workshops, more than 350 high school AVTF students traveled to the GFA Assembly Studios Hub to get hands‑on experience with core film disciplines. Students rotated through stations led by RE:IMAGINE teaching artists and GFA staff, exploring:
- Camera & Cinematography
- Lighting Techniques
- Production Sound
- Behind‑the‑Scenes & Set Photography
- Screenwriting
Each station gave students practical, industry‑aligned training designed to prepare them for their upcoming county film festivals—events that RE:IMAGINE also supports through organization and coordination.
Partnerships like this allow GFA to collaborate with like‑minded, film‑focused organizations while providing AVTF students with tangible pathways toward “what’s next” in Georgia’s film ecosystem.
This season’s Mock‑Sets continue a multi‑year collaboration between GFA and RE:IMAGINE. Previous initiatives have included a college‑level Mock‑Set at the GFA Trilith Hub and a multi‑day workshop for Gwinnett County students at the former OFS Hub. Together, we’re working to expand access, strengthen instruction, and inspire the next generation of Georgia filmmakers.
