Season 2 of IFC’s “Brockmire” premieres tonight, with the show shifting ballpark locales for ’18. Season 1 saw Luther Williams Field in Macon, Ga., serve as the home for the fictional Morristown (Pa.) Frackers.

That venue, built in ’29, has served as a backdrop for many baseball movies, including the ’13 Jackie Robinson biopic “42.” Macon-Bibb County received $16,900 in ’16 for renting the ballpark to IFC, according to documents provided to SBJ/SBD by the county.

The payment covered 10 days of filming at the ballpark, 14 days of setting up and breaking down the sets and $5,000 for utilities. This season, the show’s title character, played by Hank Azaria, moves to the fictional Triple-A New Orleans Crawdaddy’s.
