Warner Brothers studio has been granted state and local approval to film a movie scene on St. Simons Island’s East Beach on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The film, “Doctor Sleep,” is a sequel to Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 classic “The Shining,” and reportedly will star Scottish actor Ewan McGregor, according to Variety magazine. A studio representative did not respond to The News’ request for comment by press time.
Filming will take place near the Coast Guard Station beach access between noon Tuesday and noon Wednesday, according to a permit issued by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
