Eighth Street Middle School technology teacher Brian Tapscott has long been active in video games.

Dating back to the days of ColecoVision, Tapscott has kept up with technology and admitted he has a big collection of games on the online Steam platform. He incorporates his enjoyment of gaming with students and said it helps him connect with them.

Tapscott now has more of a chance to connect with Tift County students over a love of video games. He has been selected to be the coach of TCHS’ esports team, which kicked off its season Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. with two games of League of Legends.
