Production of The Mule added more than $9.7 million to Georgia’s Economy

The Georgia-lensed feature film The Mule, which premieres in theaters on Friday, Dec. 14th, was responsible for more than $9.7 million in direct spend in Georgia.

The Mule is a crime film directed by Clint Eastwood, who also played a role in the film alongside Bradley Cooper and Taissa Farmiga. The film shot in Georgia from June to July 2018.

The Mule employed 1,530 local workers who took home over $3.9 million in wages. The production also supported a wide array of in-state vendors, including numerous small businesses, such as:

· $1.1 million on lodging

· $236,939 on grip and electric rentals and purchases

· More than $307,000 on catering, bakery goods and other food items

· $236,233 on camera rental and purchases

· $646,894 on transportation, including truck and car rentals

The Mule tells the true story of a 90-year-old horticulturist and WWII veteran who is caught transporting cocaine through Michigan for a Mexican drug cartel. Filming took place in numerous communities including Atlanta, Augusta, Douglassville, Doraville, Fairburn, Hampton, Jonesboro, Lawrenceville, McDonough, Norcross, Rome, Smyrna and Tucker.
