With the only university-run casting office in the country, SCAD helps drive the multibillion-dollar film and television industry in Georgia. Of the nearly 15,000 SCAD alumni from entertainment and digital media disciplines, more than 3,000 work in the Georgia film industry.
Peter Bowden was among the state’s top tourism professionals recognized at the 2019 Georgia Governor’s Tourism Conference. Bowden received The Tom Kilgore Lifetime Achievement Award, which is named for Rep. Tom Kilgore of Douglasville, an early tourism champion. This award recognizes an individual who exemplifies outstanding lifetime commitment towards tourism.

The Honors College student is also pursuing a double major in psychology and neuroscience. When he’s not inflicting damage to opponents inside the “Smite” battle arena, he’s in the psychology lab exploring how virtual reality and other emerging technologies can treat anxiety.
Downton Abbey came in next in third place on the combined chart taking $24.5 million. $10 million were earned overseas while it made $14.5 million in the US where it finished second. Global sales for this British drama now total $58.5 million.
The festival has become a distinguished stop on the road to the Oscars: hosting exclusive screenings, competition films, feature films, documentaries, shorts, animated films, panel discussions, and workshops at SCAD’s historic theaters and industry leading studios.
The star-studded event had the theme of “Old Hollywood” and was open to the public. It was a night of “Lights! Camera! Action!”, and the entertainment community pulled out all the stops that evening, evoking classic Hollywood with lights, a red carpet, live music – even paparazzi.
