President Donald Trump on Sunday extended his trade war to the cinema. Trump, in an evening post on his social media platform Truth Social, said he has instructed the Commerce Department and US Trade Representative to place a 100% tariff on films that are produced outside the United States and imported into America.

Industry veteran and influencer Patrick Caligiuri will be a featured speaker, offering insights on navigating current industry trends and opportunities. Multi-hyphenate talent Meredith Riley Stewart, actor/producer/content creator, will join a panel discussion on production. In January, the Junior Theater Festival welcomed more than 8,000 musical theater performers, creators, crew, supporters and enthusiasts to metro Atlanta. The production employed more than 500 Georgia residents as film and television crew members, manufacturer teams, contractors, electricians, visual artists and others who ate, drank and slept all things JTF.
If there was a theme for Georgia’s creative industries in 2024, it would surround the convergence of tourism and entertainment. Communities all over the state are recognizing the power of adjoining local creative organizations while recruiting entertainment productions to the region.
