CineDrone has become the trusted drone team for Hollywood’s most recognized franchises like Captain America: Civil War, Fear the Walking Dead, and 24… to artists like ‘Maroon 5’, Jared Leto’s ‘30 Seconds to Mars’, and Kevin Hart.

Now those in Wilmington’s film industry are waiting for the next production to make it to the state, while others are seeking film jobs with projects in cities with a steadier market.

Just when it seems that everyone with the ability to create video games has tried it out, researchers from the Georgia Institute of Technology have introduced a totally new, first of its kind developer. In a research paper published online, the Georgia Tech team showed how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to make a video game.

The film went through seven years of development hell before New Line settled on Argentine director Andy Muschietti to take the helm. Cary Fukunaga was previously attached but New Line wasn’t comfortable investing in his more unorthodox and reportedly sexually graphic vision for the film.

Producer Roy Kirkland learned Mathis City Auditorium would be tagged as a shelter for residents needing assistance during Irma. The movie was scheduled to play three evenings at Mathis in the coming week.

Jason London, a long-time actor who had his first big break with the 1993 movie “Dazed and Confused,” was among the cast and movie crew members filming scenes for the feature film “Full Count.”

Florida, which was wracked by hurricane winds and rain Sunday, has had virtually no film and TV productions shooting there since the state ended its film tax incentives program in June 2016.

The Hawai‘i Film Office says productions receive a 20 percent tax credit on O‘ahu, and a 25 percent tax credit on Kaua‘i, Maui, Moloka‘i and Hawai‘i Island, provided they spend between $200,000 and $15 million and attempt to hire locally. They must also support education for the local production industry.
