Municipalities are building broadcast studios at recreation complexes for little league ball games – funded by tax payers, organizations everywhere are building mini-studios, small franchised studios are being sold, podcast studios are a given at high schools, cyc walls are rampant, custom sets for banks, hospital rooms, bars are everywhere. Because content will be created, stories must be told.

As the number of productions has grown, so has the infrastructure to support it. According to an April 2023 report by FilmLA Research, Georgia already had 3 million square feet of soundstage space by the end of 2021 — up from 2 million a year earlier — including Trilith Studios (formerly Pinewood Atlanta) and EU/Screen Gems Studios.
The studios have warned that next year’s summer blockbusters could be postponed, and TV shows could be canceled, if no deal is reached in the coming week.
The state-funded $42 million project included a new three-story building for Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, and Emerging Technologies programs; renovation of existing structures, including Building 100, the One-Stop Enrollment Center, the Library, the Student Life Center, and new chemistry and physics labs that support health sciences.
Georgia Council for the Arts, a strategic arm of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, today announced the recipients of fiscal year 2024 Vibrant Communities and Cultural Facilities grant awards. The Vibrant Communities grant supports a variety of arts programming opportunities throughout the state, and the Cultural Facilities grant supports capital improvements to or construction of buildings to be used for arts programming.
