The big-screen adaptation of the kids book The House with a Clock in Its Walls, a pre-Halloween family film with Jack Black and Cate Blanchett, had a good start. It topped the US charts, with close to $27 million. Internationally, 14 territories added $8.7 million, with the U.K. alone good for $4.3 million. With a worldwide cumulative of $35.6 million, The House with a Clock in Its Walls came in at No. 2 on the global charts this week, where the champion was once again The Nun.
