Screening Partners select films and filmmakers to tour from a curated shortlist of submitted and invited films. Films are evaluated for consideration based on the subject matter and themes, potential programming or partnerships, and the film’s relationship to the South.

Atlanta-based composer wins at this year’s Telly Awards

Atlanta-based composer Mark Kueffner is a silver award winner at the 46th annual Telly Awards for his work on the original score for “Nobody Heals Alone,” a forthcoming documentary about post-traumatic stress disorder in veterans and first responders. 

The 78th Festival de Cannes winners’ list

The Jury of the 78th Festival de Cannes, chaired by French actress Juliette Binoche, surrounded by American actress and filmmaker Halle Berry, Indian director and screenwriter Payal Kapadia, Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher, French-Moroccan writer Leïla Slimani, Congolese director, documentarist and producer Dieudo Hamadi, Korean director and screenwriter Hong Sangsoo, Mexican director, screenwriter and producer Carlos Reygadas and American actor Jeremy Strong, presented its winners’ list among the 22 films presented in Competition this year.

The film follows Dr. Kinsell’s fight to keep her clinic open while navigating the complexities of a potential deal with a university hospital. Capturing the local and the systemic, The Only Doctor
reflects the broader healthcare crisis while grounding its story in a woman’s deeply personal sense of responsibility to fellow humans as she believes that healthcare is a human right and most so in the wealthiest country in the world.
