The National Geographic Traveler features Georgia in the culture section for our live music and music heritage. In fact, Georgia Tourism proclaimed 2016 the “Year of Georgia Music” and focused its marketing on the state’s rich music heritage, world-class venues and unique festivals.

The newly created jobs include positions in software and product development, engineering, technology and marketing, among others. The new headquarters will be located at Perimeter Summit at 1001 Summit Blvd.

The star of the Savannah Film Festival is the city itself, thanks to stunning historic districts and defining squares, shaded by towering oaks festooned with Spanish moss.

In 2015, five movies were filmed on campus. The most notable, “The Accountant” was released Oct. 14, 2016. Ben Affleck (“Argo”) and Anna Kendrick (“Pitch Perfect”) were filmed at the steps to the Student Center by the Campanile.

A new digital animation degree at Kennesaw State University will soon prepare students to creatively work in Georgia’s fast-growing entertainment industry. Today, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia approved the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Animation.

“This program is a great example of how Columbus State University is responding to industry needs,” said CSU President Chris Markwood. “We are proud to have been asked to be one of the first partners in the Georgia Film Academy.”

Although there have been a lot of revisions to the original legislation over the past 10 years including changes to the cap of $25 million, GEIIA is still one of the strongest tax credit programs at the state level for the entertainment industry.
