The Entertainment Tourism Alliance of Georgia (ETAG) has formed to track, promote, and connect tourism data associated with film, music, arts, and other entertainment sectors.
As appointed by Lt. Governor Burt Jones and Speaker of the House Jon Burns the committee members are working on behalf of the Georgia General Assembly to review all Georgia tax credits, including Georgia’s film tax credit.
What we have won in this contract—most particularly, everything we have gained since May 2nd—is due to the willingness of this membership to exercise its power, to demonstrate its solidarity, to walk side-by-side, to endure the pain and uncertainty of the past 146 days.

The Georgia Entertainment 100 will adjoin the Georgia Unscripted Roadshow event in Columbus on October 5th. The combination brings the educational program of the roadshow series together with the gala style, networking format of the signature 100 events that Georgia Entertainment is known for.
As part of her GFA curriculum, she secured production assistant internships on the set of a major motion picture, Creed III, and television series, Shadrach, officially obtaining her certification in Film and Television Production from GFA upon completion of her on-set roles.
It took a while for the audio and comms departments to embrace the power of “digital”. But once they did, there was no looking back. As an example, the ability to change channels on a device with a keystroke, has been a game changer, not only for the comms engineer but the entertainment industry as a whole. Think of it. The show engineer can now program their entire show on the plane on the way to the job. Once on site, shoot the file into the equipment and off you go. It’s a beautiful thing!
In my last article I highlighted the need for “Cultural Clarity” in Creative Economies and described the need to better define which creative industries are considered in Georgia’s Creative Economy. In this article I will focus on our state’s investment in the arts, Georgia’s Rural Creative Economy, and how the Film Industry can be a foundation for Rural Economic Development in the state of Georgia.
