Virginia Film Office adjusts its focus as Georgia lures away productions

These days, Virginia is having a devil of a time keeping film productions from disappearing and going down to Georgia with their millions.

In 2016, the Virginia Film Office is in a bind as it is way behind Georgia and other nearby states in tax incentives and grant money deals.

“As far as location diversity, we crush Georgia,” Virginia Film Office Director Andy Edmunds said via telephone Monday. “Virginia has an amazing palette of locations. It’s America in miniature. It can look like Costa Rica, Vietnam or Paris during the revolution.”
