Class Gives Everyone A Chance To Learn About Rome International Film Festival

0

On Thursday, August 31, 6:30-7:30 PM at the Sara Hightower library in Rome, GA, residents will have a chance to test the waters of a film festival experience.  Volunteers from the Rome International Film Festival, RIFF, will host a free workshop for anyone curious about our local film festival experience.

The workshop, “RIFF 101- An introduction to our local international film festival,” is being offered to encourage local residents to attend the 4-day film festival, now in its 14th year in Rome.

“RIFF has earned a great reputation among our state’s film festival circuit,” says Executive Director Cameron McAllister.  “It offers a great value, and we’d like to encourage people who haven’t heard of the festival—or who may feel intimidated—to attend this workshop, or attend RIFF for one film, for a day, or even the whole festival.”  The festival features films from local and national filmmakers, as well as films from around the world.  This year, the festival will take place November 9-12 in downtown Rome, with films being shown at the DeSoto Theatre and the City Auditorium.
