Minnesota film board hopes to make more of Netflix opportunities

A short film being made from Minnesota author Lorna Landvik’s “Oh My Stars” fits into new directions for the state’s nonprofit film commission, Minnesota Film & TV.

“We’re still driven by production incentives,” trying to lure major motion pictures to shoot in Minnesota, says MNFilmTV executive director Melodie Bahan, “but there’s so much space for content.”

“It’s exploding,” Bahan says of outlets such as Hulu, Amazon and Netflix. “There are huge opportunities.”
