Georgia-based Hi-Rez Expo Championships to Feature Prize Pools of $1M for SMITE, $300K for Paladins

Hi-Rez Studios has announced world championship tournaments for SMITE and Paladins, to be held at Hi-Rez Expo. The games’ championships will feature $1M and $300K prize pools, respectively. The fifth Hi-Rez Expo will be held from Nov. 16-18 in the Georgia World Congress Center as part of the partnership with DreamHack Atlanta, announced earlier this year.

The partnership between Hi-Rez and DreamHack continues both organizations’ history of working together to produce SMITE and Paladins tournaments. Hi-Rez also hosted competitions for SMITE, Paladins and Hand of the Gods: SMITE Tactics at DreamHack Valencia 2017.

SMITE teams on console and PC will compete for over $1M split across the two platforms’ tournaments, while Paladins teams on console and PC will split a prize pool of $300K. The SMITE World Championship prize pool marks a return to $1M for the annual event after season 4’s dropped to $785,000. However, it is still below the $2.6M prize pool in 2015’s edition of the tournament. The $300K prize pool for Paladins is the largest for the game so far, eclipsing the Paladins Hi-Rez Expo Invitational 2017, the prize pool of which stood at $150K.
