On June 7, Charlie Shaw’s daylily farm looked the best it ever had. And just a few days later, it looked its worst.
Shaw’s Sunshine Gardens on Lumpkin Park Drive was transformed this summer for its scenes in Clint Eastwood’s latest movie, “The Mule.”
The movie, which premiered in Augusta theaters Dec. 14, revolves around Eastwood’s character Earl Stone, a drug mule for a Mexican cartel, and is based off the true story of Leo Sharp. In the film, Stone begins trafficking drugs for the cartel after his daylily farm faces foreclosure.
