A movie directed by Ron Howard is expected to be filmed partially in Macon.
According to Tammy Smith Casting Hillbilly Elegy, based on the memoir by JD Vance, will also be filmed in Clayton, Georgia, as well as Atlanta.
The film’s IMDB page says it’s in pre-production and stars Amy Adams and Glenn Close. It will tell the story of a member of an Appalachian family who has to return to his hometown while attending Yale Law School.
