ATLANTA, GA —The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is thrilled to announce the
opening of a new Casting Office at the university’s cutting-edge digital media center in the heart
of Midtown Atlanta. Now with locations in Savannah and Atlanta, the SCAD Casting Office is the
only professionally run university casting offices in the nation, providing unique, career-
launching opportunities for SCAD students in professional film and television shows shooting
not only in Georgia, but in Los Angeles, New York City, and other global markets.

The SCAD Atlanta casting office officially opened at the start of the fall 2023 quarter and already
has confirmed leading casting directors and agents to serve as mentors throughout the
academic year. SCAD is also the only university that offers a Casting minor. Through
internships with major networks and the industry's leading casting directors, as well as casting
opportunities for over 600 SCAD student films, students in this minor receive hands-on training
that prepares them to step into the world of professional casting.

“Georgia’s growing importance in the film and television industry made opening the second
Casting Office an easy decision,” said John Buckovich, vice president for SCAD Atlanta and
university operations. “As SCAD Atlanta expands with increased enrollment and the B.F.A,
Acting degree program now being offered at this university location, the Casting Office is a vital
resource for our students, alumni and faculty, as well as the entertainment industry.

”SCAD’s dean of the School of Film and Acting Andra-Reeve Rabb opened the Savannah
Casting Office in 2009. As the former director of prime-time casting for CBS. She leverages her
experience to run the SCAD casting office, which is the only professionally run casting office at
the university level in the world. During her time at CBS, she worked on The Big Bang Theory,
How I Met Your Mother, CSI, and many others. Variety magazine named her one of the top 10
entertainment educators in the world.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled for this expansion,” said Reeve-Rabb. “A casting office at the
university level is a game changer. It’s the connecting point between our talented students and
industry professionals and between actors and filmmakers. We have had
such a tremendous track record in Savannah. We placed over 700 students and alum last year
through the SCAD Casting Office and this is the next big step to contribute to the workforce in
the Atlanta market. We are the only university that is placing students both behind and in front of
the camera.”

Reeve-Rabb will also oversee the Atlanta office and Professor Alpha Tyler will manage the day-
to-day operations. Tyler worked as a film, television, and commercial casting director in the
Atlanta area for more than three decades, including Tyler Perry Studios.

Over the past decade, top networks, studios and streaming platforms have utilized SCAD
Casting including Netflix, Disney, Apple+, NBC, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and more.
While attending SCAD, students have booked over 1,000 roles in major motion pictures and
television series in Georgia, earning their Screen Actors Guild cards while earning their
degrees.SCAD students, alumni, and faculty have won Oscars, Emmys, Golden Reels, Tonys,
and have worked on the sets of May December, Juror #2, Fear the Walking Dead, The
Politician, Underground Railroad, and more.

In addition to the casting office, SCAD now offers a B.F.A. in acting at the university’s Atlanta
location. The comprehensive degree will offer dynamic courses including The Art of the Audition
series and Advanced Acting for Comedy and Drama that will continue to help students land
major film, television, and stage roles. This next generation of storytellers are being mentored
by global industry leaders on state of the art technology. SCAD is the only university in the world
to have two LED Volume stages exclusively for student use, one in Atlanta and one in
Savannah. Professor Craig Anton has been elevated to a new role as associate chair for the
School of Film and Acting in Atlanta. Anton brings more than three decades of experience in
comedy, acting, directing, and writing to the classroom and is still a working actor. He is best
known for his role in the Disney TV series Phil of the Future.

The preeminent authority in film and television, SCAD has been recognized as one of the top
U.S. film schools by The Hollywood Reporter and MovieMaker Magazine. More than 9,000
SCAD students and alumni work in the fields of animation, entertainment, motion pictures,
media production, writing, editing, broadcast media, and performing arts, with over 2,800 in
Georgia alone.
