Andrew Greenberg, executive director of the Georgia Game Developers Association, discusses Georgia’s comprehensive esports ecosystem.
He traces competitive gaming from its arcade roots through games like Pong and Street Fighter to today’s massive events that draw tens of thousands of participants. Georgia stands out as having one of the world’s most complete esports infrastructures, spanning professional teams, game publishers, educational programs, and supportive policy. The state was pioneering in offering high school varsity letters for esports competitors and became the first to provide tax credits for esports broadcasting, helping attract major tournaments and events to Georgia.
Greenberg will be moderating a fireside chat with Tim Ryan (Founder of Upswing Games) and Mike Stumhofer (Founder and Lead Developer at HOF Studios) to discuss why Columbus and middle Georgia is good for development, the current challenges and future opportunities. Don’t miss out on this event. RSVP here.
