Georgia has become the “Hollywood of the South” and Butts County is getting a slice of a pie worth billions of dollars in economic development for the state.
Craig Dominey, a senior film location specialist for the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office, spoke at the Partners for Smart Growth meeting Feb. 23 at Jackson United Methodist Church. Dominey created and manages the Georgia Camera Ready program, which helps county representatives promote locations to the film industry.
Dominey helps county film liaisons such as Butts County’s J. Michael Brewer and production companies work together.
“He (Dominey) is the go-to person,” Brewer said. “Each year he gets more and more communities to be certified Camera Ready.”
