The Georgia Unscripted Roadshow event’s next stop is Middle Georgia on October 18th. The event will be held at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, the second-largest aerospace museum of the United States Air Force.
It was very moving to be in Athens yesterday at the Tax Credit Review witnessing the political process in action. It was a packed session as lawmakers heard from industry leaders, state officials and others as they explore the return on investment and value of Georgia’s film incentive.
Co-Chairs Rep. Shaw Blackmon and Sen. Chuck Hufstetler confirmed the October 4th meeting in Athens. The event will begin at 9:00 AM and be held at Athens Technical College; 800 US Hwy, 29 North, Building A, Room 139, Athens, GA 30601. It will be live streamed.
At the Georgia Unscripted event in Cobb County, Roger Alexander touched so many with his brief remarks. With 200+ in the audience including dozens of legislators and government officials, he walked through his story of what the film tax incentive has done for him, the entertainment businesses he has started and the young people he now mentors.
The event, in partnership with Film Columbus GA and presented in part by Valley Hospitality Group, will combine the Georgia Unscripted roadshow’s educational and informational state-of-the-industry offering with Georgia Entertainment’s signature 100 affair, which focuses heavily on high level networking.
Representative Al Williams, representing the coast for more than 20 years, spoke about Liberty County’s role and how the film credit has been so key for Georgia’s economy. “We need to be careful dabbling with the film tax credit and progress made in Georgia. Others like Louisiana dabbled and look what happened there.”
