The new immersive theater experience “Mirth and Mischief” combines virtual reality, aerial performances and interactive storytelling to create what producer Kelly Nelson calls “a feeling like you’re in ”Game of Thrones’ meets ‘The Labyrinth.'”
Cinelease Studios – Three Ring was on full display during The Space to Create. Industry professionals were on hand to witness the studio’s expanded role as a hub for creatives, with a vision to serve as an indie-friendly creative hub supporting industries such as gaming, music, live entertainment, and digital media.
The Atlanta Film Society’s IMAGE Film Awards presented by Georgia Entertainment in partnership with Assembly Atlanta and Universal Production Services, sets out to honor various individuals, companies and organization that have made outstanding contributions to Georgia’s film industry and community.
It seems we’ve all been streaming a full load of documentaries and docuseries, which unfold in multiple episodes. We’ll be seeing more of them too, according to current reports from film’s above-the-line greats and multinational entertainment executives alike.
The special, sanctioned program is active throughout the duration of the festival. The purpose is to highlight Georgia’s infrastructure, locations, talented crew and professional services to filmmakers from around the world.
In recent years, the growth of the creative has been fueled by a strong interest in creative careers, particularly among younger generations. This trend is reshaping the workforce and propelling the creative economy into a period of remarkable growth.
Industry veteran and influencer Patrick Caligiuri will be a featured speaker, offering insights on navigating current industry trends and opportunities. Multi-hyphenate talent Meredith Riley Stewart, actor/producer/content creator, will join a panel discussion on production. Other participants include Ty Walker, Cherelle George, Paris Schulman, Ryan Monolopolus, John Thomas, Josh Harris, Melanie Krinsky, Chelsea Spivey and more.
In January, the Junior Theater Festival welcomed more than 8,000 musical theater performers, creators, crew, supporters and enthusiasts to metro Atlanta. The production employed more than 500 Georgia residents as film and television crew members, manufacturer teams, contractors, electricians, visual artists and others who ate, drank and slept all things JTF.
If there was a theme for Georgia’s creative industries in 2024, it would surround the convergence of tourism and entertainment. Communities all over the state are recognizing the power of adjoining local creative organizations while recruiting entertainment productions to the region.
The Columbus Film Office hosted their latest meeting at the Patrick Theatre inside The Columbus Museum on April 10. These events connect entertainment professionals, artists and local businesses from Georgia and beyond and provide an opportunity to share information about activity in the region.
