The 26th annual Atlanta Jewish Film Festival has officially concluded, wrapping its in-theater run across metro Atlanta along with at-home streaming statewide through the festival’s Virtual Cinema platform.

It’s no wonder the makeup and “Star Wars” lover finally found her calling through the Georgia Film Academy (GFA) and the entertainment industry, where today she’s a costume production assistant. She’s already left her mark on the wildly popular “Stranger Things” series, where she created and painted the lettering on the wall for its iconic “ABC wall” set, and “The Walking Dead” series, where she helped build the hospital hallway set.

Where Story Meets the Classroom: Georgia Film Academy’s Dramatic Writing Program

The Georgia Film Academy’s Dramatic Writing Program was developed in 2018, in part because Georgia had become a center of film and television production and needed to build a pipeline of homegrown writers. The course can satisfy an English graduation requirement and is built around four areas: genre and multi-modality, playwriting, film writing and television writing.

Nearly 10,000 High School Students converged on the Georgia World Congress Center for competitions in Career Fields spanning cosmetology, construction, welding, and film. GFA and Chapman/Leonard were on-site with hands-on experiences covering Camera, Lighting, Broadcast, and Art Department.

GFA x RE:IMAGINE: 350+ HS Students Get Hands-On at GFA Assembly Hub

Starting in Fall 2025 and continuing into early Spring 2026, GFA partnered with RE:IMAGINE to host a series of hands‑on “Mock‑Set” workshops for more than 350 AVTF students from DeKalb and Gwinnett counties. Students visited the GFA Assembly Studios Hub to rotate through immersive stations focused on cinematography, lighting, production sound, set photography, and screenwriting as they built skills and confidence ahead of their county film festivals.

Atlanta Jewish Film Festival Shifts to Virtual Cinema: Streaming to Metro Atlanta Homes and Audiences Statewide

Following its in-theater run across metro Atlanta, the 26th annual Atlanta Jewish Film Festival (AJFF) continues statewide with its Virtual Cinema, streaming March 6–15, 2026. With à la carte streaming tickets or an all-inclusive At-Home Streaming Pass, audiences across metro Atlanta and Georgia can enjoy 20 feature films and all 16 short films from this year’s Festival lineup.

Columbus-based documentary “The Wintering Grounds” makes waves across the globe

The team filmed for about a week in December 2019, after Swift and Wright secured funding through a meeting with local stakeholders. Wright told community leaders that visitors come from across the country and around the world to experience what the documentary calls the “southernmost whitewater in the U.S.”, drawn by both the Chattahoochee River rapids and the region’s southern hospitality.
